Cybersimba Initiative

An initiative aimed to address the critical cybersecurity skills gap in Tanzania by equipping University Students from Cybersecurity, IT Computer Science and other relevant courses with essential skills. The initiative will include formation of diverse teams from 31 universities across Tanzania fostering collaboration, through practical training, webinars and competitions.

CyberSimba Objectives

1: Provide hands-on training and practical challenges through our Capture The Flag (CTF) platform to develop strong technical skills in cybersecurity.

2: Build a vibrant cybersecurity community through interactive events, competitions, and knowledge sharing.

3: Raise knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity threats and best practices among African new generation.

4: Identify and nurture emerging cybersecurity talents and connecting them with opportunities to sharpen and grow their expertise

Methodologies

Key methodologies used in CyberSimba Initiative

Cyber Premium League (CPL) Challenges

We organize dynamic Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions across university, inter-college, zonal, and national levels through the cybersimba CTF platform. These competitions are designed with progressively challenging scenarios to test and enhance participants' cybersecurity skills. Top performers are recognized and rewarded with prizes, certificates, and public acknowledgment, fueling healthy competition and skill advancement.

Global Exposure

We work with partners to reward exceptional participants with opportunities to participate in international cybersecurity conferences, hackathons, and knowledge exchange programs. This global exposure helps them stay ahead of trends, adopt best practices, and connect with a vibrant international community of cybersecurity professionals and innovators.

Webinars & Training Sessions

We host engaging and practical training sessions led by cybersecurity experts, covering emerging threats, tools, and techniques. These sessions include live webinars, interactive labs, and guest lectures, ensuring participants gain both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience.
